Write the Vision Make it Plain!

Have you ever heard the phrase "Write the Vision, Make it Plain"?.

It sounds so trivial but it's so necessary. I have learned the significance and importance of writing down your goals and posting them in a place where you can view them often. Post them on your bathroom mirror, put them up by your bed. If you want to get fancy...do a vision board and decorate it. If you super fancy type up your short term goals and frame it! However you want to do it just DO IT because it's necessary.

The key is writing down your short term goals so that you are actually working towards something achievable. Short term goals give you a sense of accomplishment as you conquer them and cross them off your list. When you see yourself actually making progress you develop a habit of constantly pushing forward in achieving everything in which you desire.

Some of the most successful people in this world such as Russell Simmons, Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and etc, swear by this practice. They believe that if you write the vision and make it plain, you are releasing these requests into the universe and the universe begins to align and position these things into your life. It's the Law of Attraction. Some believe we as humans have the power to attract the things we desire into our lives based on our thinking and our actions. Other's believe if you simply ask God and walk by faith then these things will be added unto you.

Whatever your belief system is just understand that you have the power and control to attract the things you want into your life. Whether you ask God or embed it in your train of thought. Proverbs 23 verse 7 says "as a man thinketh so is he". Wow! SUPER POWERFUL STATEMENT!
I absolutely love this! It's the "secret" to success. Have you read the book entitled "The Secret"? It's truly inspiring and motivational. It supercharges something within you and make you feel as though nothing is impossible. I highly encourage that you read it. I personally didn't agree with everything in the book because I believe it paints the picture that we as humans are Gods but the rest I loved.

One of my goals for this year was to become an author. My goal will Manifest itself in March 2011! I'm excited. It was hard work but I was persistent, focused, determined and disciplined enough to stay on task and make it happen. I put up sticky notes with deadlines I created for myself all around my home so everywhere I turned I was reminded of my goal. When that goal is completed I will simply cross it off my goal list and move on to the next.

The feeling of accomplishment is priceless. I wish that I could have this moment for Life! Nicki hit the nail on the head with that song. That's exactly how Success feels.

I sent her a reply but also feel the need to go into depth about this a little more. Believe it or not, I haven't always been a Glam Goddess. I have always been into 'Fashion' for as long as I can remember but I didn't discover my love for makeup until a few years ago.

You could say I was a late bloomer because when one of my friends was buying MAC back in my early college years, I didn't know what the hell MAC was. She was my hair dresser and a stylist, home girl was far beyond her fashion years. This was back in 2001.

I honestly don't think a woman discovers her true appreciation for makeup until she has been MADE UP right. When I say "made up right" I mean--Flawless Perfection!
The whole nine yards....Voluminous Lashes, Lip stick, Liners, Creme Foundation, Powder, Pigmented Shadows, Beautiful Blush, Contouring to 'slim' your face, Eyebrows expertly arched, Bold Mascara, and a Star quality Shimmer! These are just a few things to Perfect your Beauty.

Some women pride themselves in saying "I don't wear makeup because I don't need to". My response is...-Heifer! The most beautiful women in this world who have graced the cover of International Magazines wear makeup so what makes you so golden? The real reason some women don't wear makeup is because they don't know how or they haven't seem themselves made up Flawlessly or Correctly. Some women are even scared because they have seen the evil side of makeup where your skin reacts negatively from the application process especially when you don't have a good cleaning regime. Basically saying, if you put makeup into your pores you better be prepared to clean your skin thoroughly daily! Your pores like to breathe so you most certainly have to give them special attention with exfoliates and deep cleaning agents on the regular.

When I was young the most I would do is a color liner and a heavy gloss. My skin was always very evenly toned and clear so I would throw my CoCo butter on and be done! Honey I thought I was the Biggy BOMB!!! LOL! It wasn't until an old friend of mine who just happen to be one of the best MUAs (makeup artists) in the entire country told me "Vee you should let me "beat your face" meaning "make you up". So I did, the results blew my mind! To see myself made up Flawlessly, took my breath away! It took everything in me not to cry. I didn't want to ruin the work she just did so a sista had to choke back them tears. From there I was hooked! She gave me a few beginner lessons and from there I did major research on the products in the industry. I did major research on the application process. I discovered that you can learn how to do makeup on YouTube but of course practice makes perfect.

Dangers in Nail Salons

For the first time in a year and a half I got my nails done. I took a break from this luxury because literally for ten years straight, every two weeks I was a faithful customer. I think nails are a clean look for the hands and designs are a way to express personality.

I did my own nails for the past year, experimenting with different OPI colors and changing them up every couple of days. Time consuming yes, but I saved tons of money by simply pampering myself from home. The other day I finally broke down and decided it was time to go back into the salon. I made this decision after being fed up with my polish chipping because let's face it when your polish start to chip it looks tacky. I discovered that I have a very oily nail bed so no matter what brand or how expensive my polish is, in a few days it was bound to chip. Its nothing like having on a banging outfit with some chipped up nails. YUK!! You know people make assumptions about you based on your hands and nails???!! Yep! They do so stay on point!

Ok so I get to the salon and decide to go with a very short, squared off look, one base color and no design. I struggle with whether I want a plain look for the nails since my outfits and personality can be so over the top sometimes. There's got to be some balance somewhere in my life LOL. Anywho as I'm sitting in this salon, one of the most expensive in the city, something began to catch my eye.
*Wait* let me back up for a second...I don't know if you know but I'm germ-a-phobic so any little nasty thing is going to catch my attention, I can't stand germs!
Ok so when I began to approach my favorite nail technician I noticed that none of the tools were sterile. I was disgusted! Yes completely disgusted!
I don't know that previous heifer whose dead skin cells are embedded all up in the filer, buffer, drill and etc! And I sure as hell don't want her nastiness on me! My thoughts were "why the hell are the tools not fresh or new"??
Believe it or not, NOT enough people complain about this unsanitary practice! It's dangerous! You better complain before you leave out of there with your nails pretty and a pretty nasty disease!

Worst case scenario...let me really paint this picture for you....
What if a lady with HIV/AIDS got her nails done before you and somehow her cuticle was nipped and she bled, her nails where filed down and all her dead skin cells are on the filer that is about to be used on you!
I want to instantly puke and pass out at the thought of this. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from getting a manicure but there are somethings that you just need to open your eyes to.

For all my pedicure lovers...don’t shave or wax a day before your pedi because your pores are open. Make sure that between customers you are watching that they are spraying anti bacteria spray or a cleaning agent to kill the bateria and germs from the previous customers. Just spraying the pedi bowl with water is not enough to KILL bacteria!
Then you want to make sure they are wiping the bowl dry. Why? because bacteria thrives in moisture! Also, never ever ever cut your cuticles!! The reason we have them is to protect against bacteria! God knew what he was doing when he designed the human body so stop chopping stuff off LOL.

You really want to be sure that every tool used on you is sterilized! One may ask, how would I know this fairy God mother Vee?
Fret not my beauties!
What you need to look for in the salon is a UV Sterilizer. Some of the fungus that lurks in salons include Ecoli, which comes from when people don’t wash their hands after the bathroom, then get their nails done and the tools aren’t sterilized. When nail tools are put in this small oven like object the bacteria is killed in the matter of a few minutes. If you still don’t trust that then take your own nail kit with you and have the technicians use that. Your personal kit can be cleaned with alcohol or in your home dishwasher.
Pedi lovers, in a lot of states the foot razors that are used to strap off the rough skin on your heels are illegal. Yep ILLEGAL, but 98% of nail salons still use and offer them to customers. This makes me think "if these salons are doing business in your communities and are considered "experts" in this industry and don’t know of such laws pertaining to their field as 'minor' as that then what other unsanitary practices are they doing that may potentially cause harm to the customers. Uggghh!! Dangerous!

Every week hundreds of people are infected from the services they receive at nail salons so please be careful in your quest to be Beautiful!

Too Much to do in Too Little Time

Wheewwwwwww Lawd!!! Do you ever just feel overworked and underpaid?? Is there ever a time when the tasks at hand feel so overwhelming and you haven't even started them yet??
Just the mere thought of them makes you feel a bit stressed, this is NOT a good way to be guys....oh no no!!

You have to instantly remove all distractions and go into a quiet place in your mind. Get into a zone where your mind is at ease. This is where you can set the tone for how you want to feel. Put your favorite song on, something that makes you smile. Music can definitely alter our mood. When I need to focus and get things done, I always find my favorite jams and BLAST THEM!

When I'm tackling all my business tasks and important personal matters, I go into my home office, seclude myself away from everything and everybody, put my headphones on and start jamming before I start any assignment. It's important to create a "happy space".

Next, "ain't nothing to it-but to do it". If you never get started you are never going to finish, simple as that! I even got to hype myself up to get sh*t done sometimes LOL. Yep I'm thinking about hiring a retired HIP HOP Hypeman so they can get me crunk before I start working LOL. No, but seriously organize your tasks from MOst Important to-things that can wait. Work your way through your pile from there!!!
Before you know it, you will be done!!!

There's nothing worse than being in the same building day in and day out with someone that you despise! If you are a Top Notch employee and your boss is an ASS...don't even stick around! Put Plan B into action and prepare to take your skills where they will be a bit more appreciated!

If your Friends don't appreciate you---Tell them "don't let the door knob hit them where the Good Lord split them"....show their ass the door! Associates come a dime a dozen! You were born alone and you will die alone! Sometimes friends can be a distraction anyway! People go all out for each other on this special day and that's fine and dandy but imagine if your mate did this a few times a month, every month! Whewww Lawd, everything would be so Blissfully Joyful! You would be walking on clouds, head in the sky, happy go lucky with not a care in the world!

Celebrate Vday Often! Showcase your love to one another every moment you get the opportunity!! Do things out of the ordinary!!
Intimate evenings. Romanatic dinners. Unexpected tokens of appreciation and constant reminders of Love is always a way to keep the fire burning.
Take trips with one another. Get away from the kids. Get away from the norm. Figure out what works for you and fall in love over and over again. Women love when they can brag to their girlfriends or flaunt their love in front of co-workers so get your man to realize that public affection is a plus. Hint around, sending flowers or edible arrangements to the job. Pop up and bring your mate some lunch sometimes or better yet take them to lunch unexpectedly!

Whatever you do just keep the 'mystery' between one another. Nothing is more worrisome than someone knowing your every move. Have your own life outside of your mate. Don't lose yourself in your man because things may get real 'bland' afterthat. Mystery is always good.

The worst thing you can do is waste money on V-day! Don't you dare do it! That's ignorance at it's finest!
Don't go out there buying up a bunch of stuff that nobody can use and it end up being a decoration that holds no value! Oh hells nawh!!! Don't go out here buying cuddly stuffed animals and you over 25years old!...
Who wants a damn bear?!!
You just gonna give it to your kids anyway! Something memorable, edible or tangible is always a plus!!

Affection is required to keep passion brewing in your relationship!! Don't be afraid to step outside the box! No one wants to be with Mother Teresa so don't be acting all extra "holy" when it comes to pleasing your man! What you won't do the next woman will!
Hopefully your man is paying enough attention to you to know what you need, in return.

Be thoughtful when choosing tangible items or gifts for your mate. Stay away from the norm! Be memorable! I can't stress that enough.
Hell, a few extra bills paid for V-day ain't never hurt nobody ody ody, we all grown here! Aint nothing going on but the rent LOL!! Women like the security of knowing she is taken care of.

At the end of the day, create your own rules and remember to have fun with one another. Don't fall into a routine way of doing things. Remember to keep the fire burning and celebrate V-day everyday!
